JUNE 14th

On the second day of Juneteenth, food choices expand to vegetables and bread in honor of them finding new settlements and expanding in freedom to cultivate their own food. We also light the Nguzo Saba candle for Kujichagulia, Self Determination. During this period, we learn how chattel enslavement and colonialism occurred so that we can construct our communities to prevent the tragedies of the past from occurring again.
